| Air Canada to Cut US-Bound Flights in March; WestJet Could Follow | Source: Open Jaw | Air Canada says it will reduce capacity to Florida, Las Vegas and Arizona as the U.S.-Canada tariff dispute simmers and the Canadian dollar continues to struggle. And WestJet might be next in line. It wasn’t immediately clear how much capacity will be taken off the market, but it’s a huge change in Air Canada’s transborder focus, and the strongest signal yet that Canadians are truly angry at how the U.S. government has been treating its neighbour to the north. |

| Vancouver International Airport (YVR)Marks Second-Highest Passenger Count in Airport History | Source: Open Jaw | Vancouver International Airport (YVR) announced that it had recorded the second-highest passenger count in its history, with 26.2 million travellers passing through the airport in 2024. This five per cent increase over the previous year's 24.9 million travellers is a testament to YVR's domestic and international connectivity, and continuous work with airlines and tourism and business organizations to strengthen its position as a global hub. YVR has surpassed the 26 million milestone only once before—in 2019, welcoming 26.3 million travellers. |

| Can we still be friends: Alaska town sends love letter to neighbours in Yukon | Source: CBC News | Things have gotten a little weird lately with the U.S. and Canada, but one small-town mayor in Alaska hopes his town can still be Valentines with its neighbours across the border in the Yukon. Mayor Tom Morphet of Haines, Alaska, penned a love letter of sorts this week and sent off a copy to his counterparts in nearby Haines Junction, Yukon and Whitehorse on Wednesday. It says the Haines Borough wants to "reaffirm a relationship of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance" with those Yukon communities. |
