David Callaghan is vice president of sales with SPI Software (SPI) a global leader providing software and technology solutions for timeshare resorts, vacation clubs and other segments of the broader hospitality industry. In his role with SPI, Callaghan is responsible for overseeing global sales, marketing and business development initiatives.

Most recently, Callaghan led the resort consultancy business MEC Global where he provided services for a broad range of domestic and international clients including SPI. Callaghan previously served in a variety of operational, sales and marketing roles within the exchange and rentals division of Marriott Vacations Worldwide. Culminating with direct responsibility for sales and business development efforts in the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean for Interval International. 

Callaghan has served as a trustee of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA),and as a board member of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association’s Education Foundation and the Caribbean Tourism Organization’s Education. He also served as Chairman of the Urban Land Institute’s vacation ownership committee. 
Callaghan is a trusted expert on the vacation ownership industry and has spoken at industry conferences worldwide, including NYU, ALIS and The Lodging Conference.  He also served as Chairman of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Investment Conference for three years. The American Resort Development Association has recognized Mr. Callaghan on three separate occasions with a prestigious Arda Circle of Excellence (ACE) Award. He was also recognized as Allied Member of the Year by the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association for his in raising over $500,000 for educational scholarships in the Caribbean.

Callaghan brings over three decades of experience in the hospitality industry.  He was born in Dublin, Ireland and previously held management roles in the European hotel and airline industry, including serving as purchasing officer with Europe’s largest airline Ryanair.
