World Wide Vacation Ownership

Worldwide, the vacation ownership industry supported nearly 1.1 million jobs and directly generated over $45 billion in direct economic output in 2010. The total impact of the vacation ownership industry reaches nearly $114 billion when including indirect and induced impacts.

State Of The U.S. Industry

There were 1,580 timeshare resorts in the United States in 2018, representing approximately 204,100 units. About 68 percent of timeshare units are two bedrooms or more and the average unit size is over 1,000 square feet.

Economic Impact In The U.S.

In 2012, the U.S. timeshare industry generated $70 billion of economic output, 493,000 full- and part-time jobs, $23 billion in income and over $7.7 billion in total taxes.
