CRDA Announces Cornerstone Award

VANCOUVER, Aug. 15, 2013 /CNW/ – The Canadian Resort Development Association, CRDA, today announced the launch of its first annual Cornerstone Award. The award will recognize a vacation ownership professional, company, HOA or resort that has achieved outstanding results through innovative planning, financing, developing, marketing or selling techniques. In keeping with the “Exploring The Business Of Vacations” theme of VO-Con, CRDA’s annual Vacation Ownership Conference, the CRDA Cornerstone Award will honour those in the vacation ownership resort business whose accomplishments and dedication help move the industry to new heights. 

“We felt it was time to acknowledge those who have laid the foundation for the success of our industry. There are so many great resort projects, companies and people who take business risks,” said Jon Zwickel, CRDA’s President and CEO. 

“The Cornerstone Award is particularly relevant during difficult economic times, when our industry has to be creative in order to succeed”, added Zwickel.

CRDA plans to make the Cornerstone Award presentation an annual event, with the winner announced at VO-Con. This year, VO-Con will be held on October 22-23 in Vancouver, Canada.

The CRDA Cornerstone Award is produced with the help of a distinguished group of vacation ownership industry executives who donate their time to provide a fair evaluation of achievement within the industry.
