CRDA Introduces New National Directors

Vancouver, BC (September 4, 2013) - - The Canadian Resort Development Association (CRDA), the trade group representing the Canadian vacation ownership industry, recently elected four new members to serve on its national board. At its August meeting, the Board unanimously elected Dianne Hounsome, Marlene Scott, Jude Carrillo and Jon Zwickel as Directors.

“As we move forward with revitalizing CRDA, it’s a huge benefit to be able to get advice from a board made up of such experienced business leaders,” said Jon Zwickel, CRDA’s President & CEO. “For their part, Dianne, Marlene and Jude bring a wealth of experience and insights. I’m very grateful for their support, as well as the ongoing support from all of the directors.”

About Dianne Hounsome:

Dianne is the General Manager and Shareholder of Bayview Wildwood Resort in Ontario’s Muskoka Region. She also leads the management company and the re-sale program for three fractional cottage properties. The resort that has been in her family for 105+ years. Dianne is on the Executive and Board of Resorts of Ontario.  She has also served as Chairman of the Ontario Accommodation Association and Vice-Chairman of the Tourism Federation of Ontario. In 2004, Dianne was awarded the Butler Award from the Ontario Accommodation Association, recognizing her outstanding dedication and volunteer service to the tourism industry.

About Marlene Scott:

Marlene is General Manager/Executive Director of Whistler Vacation Club - Twin Peaks and Lake Placid. Born and raised in South Africa, she moved to Canada in 1997 after monetizing a success manufacturing business and completing an Executive MBA. Marlene is experienced and licensed in property/strata management, successful in working with Home Owners Associations and has a solid understanding of resort legal structure.

About Jude Carrillo:

Jude is the President of Toronto’s Skyline Vacation Ownership. Jude has twenty five years of resort real estate and vacation ownership experience in the US, Mexico and Canada, ranging from management at the project level to executive oversight in diverse areas of resort real estate with an emphasis on marketing and sales strategies in timeshare, fractional offerings, private residence clubs and wholly owned resort products. Previously he served as EVP of Club Intrawest, VP of Sales and Marketing of Star Resorts and held senior management positions with Vacation International, Trendwest Resorts and other notable vacation ownership companies.

About Jon Zwickel:

Jon is the President & CEO of CRDA. He is also President of InnVentures, a Vancouver-based hospitality and real estate advisory services firm. He was most recently a principal of Bellstar Hotels & Resorts, a highly regarded resort development and management company. Prior to that, he co-founded CHIP REIT, Canada's first hotel REIT. Jon’s direct experience encompasses corporate growth and private/public finance, project and corporate visioning, hotel operations, property management, real estate development, structuring fractional and whole ownership offerings and developing in third-world countries and on First Nations lands.

About CRDA:

CRDA is an industry association that is dedicated to furthering the ownership-based vacation and resort development industry, both in Canada and abroad. The association was founded in 1980 as “The Resort Timesharing Council of Canada” in response to the public’s demand for more information about vacation ownership. Since then, CRDA has become the preeminent industry association representing all forms of Vacation Ownership in Canada. The Association is governed by an elected Board of Directors. CRDA regularly hosts conferences that encourage B-2-B opportunities, networking and education.
