| $16 Million Award in Federal False Advertising Lawsuit Against Fraudulent Timeshare Exit Firm | Source: Coalition For Responsible Exit | The U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida has awarded Wyndham Vacation Ownership (WVO) and its affiliated entities more than $16 million in a lawsuit against two individuals in control of an unlawful advertising scheme and related entities. The Court further issued an expansive injunction, stopping defendants from engaging in their unlawful conduct, ultimately protecting not only WVO, but the consuming public. |

| Jasper wildfire: Businesses shift focus to reopening as fire risks fade | Source: Global News | While Jasper National Park and the town are still closed to visitors, on Friday the park service announced that it had reopened the road south through the Rocky Mountains that is a key draw for tourists. Community Futures is working to understand just how big a toll the fire has taken on businesses, conducting a survey with the Red Cross and the Alberta government to get data that they can then turn into more supports. An earlier survey conducted by the Tourism Industry Association of Alberta gave some sense of scale, estimating daily revenue losses as high as $4.5 million a day during the peak summer months. |
