CRTA has announced Joe Nahman RRP, Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Hilton Head Accommodations, RMC Resort Management, Resort Source, and Epic Vacations, as a CRTA Director.
With more than 34 years of experience in resort operations, property management, vacation ownership, and community association management, Joe is a hospitality executive and respected leader in the vacation ownership industry.

Hilton Grand Vacations Inc. (NYSE:HGV), the premier vacation ownership and experiences company, has yet again been ranked among the top 100 companies on Dave Thomas Foundation’s “Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces” list, which honors organizations that support its employees in building their families through adoption and foster care. For the seventh consecutive year, HGV leads in the hotel and travel industry on the Foundation’s “Best By Industry” list.
The company offers corporate, hourly and resort-based team members an adoption assistance benefit of up to $10,000 per child to help offset the cost of adoption. HGV also provides 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all eligible U.S. team members who have been with the company for 90 days. The parental leave program applies to birth and adoptive mothers and fathers, as well as team members who have a child via surrogacy.

The Gordie Howe International Bridge connecting Ontario to Michigan will open July 27, the federal government has confirmed.
A planned ribbon-cutting ceremony last month was delayed as the Trump administration looked to renegotiate a long-standing agreement between Canada and the U.S.
It said Canada and the U.S. agreed to a series of measures on toll governance, “as well as investments in the region, including through the establishment of a 15-year economic development fund tied to a portion of profits from bridge operations.”

Airlines in the United States are still contending with ultra-high fuel bills, according to the most recently available federal data.
U.S. carriers spent a total of $6.66 billion on jet fuel in May 2026, which is an 84 percent increase compared to last year, according to the Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

The State of Florida updated the laws governing Structural Integrity Reserve Studies (SIRS) through House Bill 913, effective July 1, 2025. These changes aim to alleviate some financial pressure on associations while maintaining the state’s long-term building-safety goals.
The SIRS update gives communities more time, clarity, and financial tools, but it does not reduce the state’s expectations around long-term building safety. Boards should continue to plan ahead, communicate clearly with owners, and budget responsibly to ensure the association remains compliant and financially stable.

Skijor is no more in Banff. The Alberta town has cancelled the popular snow sport from its winter festival after the community was overwhelmed in January with trash, crowds and rowdy revellers.
Skijoring, pronounced skee-JORR-ing, is a unique winter sport where skiers are pulled behind galloping horses and can perform tricks, including soaring off snow-packed ramps.
For five years, it was a big part of Banff’s winter festival. But the snowballing popularity caused problems.
