CRTA had the privilege of attending the ARDA 2026 Spring Conference in Las Vegas from May 10th to 13th. This serves as one of the primary timeshare industry events each year and provides us with an excellent opportunity to connect with industry leaders from around the globe.
This year’s conference attracted over 1,200 industry professionals, and there was a significant emphasis in the sessions around artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and enhancing owner services.
The conference sessions also revealed a shift in consumer demographics, with younger individuals becoming increasingly involved in the timeshare market. Notably, Generation Z and millennials now constitute 73% of new buyers, indicating the industry’s efforts to attract younger families and tech-savvy travelers.

Summer is fast approaching, and many Canadians are planning to travel abroad. The situation in the Middle East is presenting challenges that travellers around the world need to be aware of. Fuel shortages may lead to flight cancellations and disrupt access to local goods and services at your destination. Your travel plans could be disrupted if you are travelling to the Middle East, going through the region or even if you are not travelling to the Middle East. You should carefully assess the risks of travelling abroad under the current circumstances and plan accordingly.
If you do decide to travel abroad, you should check the situation with your airline or travel agent, both before departure and upon your return. Find out more about global travel disruptions, fuel impacts and security risks.
Travelling is a personal choice, and Canadians must make informed decisions, particularly those that affect their safety and well-being while abroad. The Government of Canada’s ability to provide assistance may be limited. Find out more about the consular services we can and can’t provide.

For Danielle Smith and Alberta separatists, no clear path left for referendum after court loss

For the last torrid year in Alberta politics, so much seemed to be building toward a separation referendum this fall. Premier Danielle Smith eased the rules repeatedly for a pro-separatist petition to succeed. Right before a court first ruled against petitioners.
But in addition to the duty to consult, Smith must reckon with another type of obligation — a political one. It may be that only 27 per cent of Albertans tell pollsters they back secession.

Canada’s National Parks Are Free To Enter, But Read The Fine Print First

The Canadian government is opening the gates to over 200 spectacular landscapes this summer by waiving admission fees to national parks, historic sites, urban parks and marine conservation areas and lockage fees at canals on historic waterways.
On paper, it is free, but those who fail to read the fine print on parking mandates, camping discounts and provincial jurisdictions could be surprised.
There are no geographical or citizenship restrictions. The gates are open for Canadians and international visitors alike.
Furthermore, visitors don’t need to apply for a physical card or download an app. They can simply arrive at the gate and enter.
