Those are some of the changes coming to JOIA Rose Hall by Iberostar, which will reopen in Montego Bay on December 1, following a full renovation — the second JOIA-branded resort in the Caribbean.
The adults-only all-inclusive is completing a transformation that covers all 295 suites, along with its lobby, poolside terraces and beachfront spaces. It brings a familiar name from our best Jamaica all-inclusive resorts into the winter season with a substantially refreshed experience.

“The underlying business model, recurring revenue streams, and cash flow generation of our business remained resilient in the third quarter, but our sales results fell short of our expectations as the initiatives we put in place over the summer to improve execution are taking longer to ramp than we anticipated,” said Mark Wang, CEO of Hilton Grand Vacations. “While we are not satisfied with our third quarter results, we were encouraged to see initial signs of progress as we exited the quarter, and we’ve accelerated our implementation efforts while adding new measures to drive conversion.”

The U.S. timeshare industry recorded higher sales and occupancy in the first half of 2026, while technology investment increased and inventory capital spending fell.
ARDA’s 2026 H1 Pulse Survey, prepared with support from Deloitte & Touche LLP, provides a useful snapshot of the sector from January through June 2026. Eight companies responded, with six providing sales data. The participating companies include major U.S. vacation ownership businesses, so the results offer useful market signals, although ARDA does not present them as a full industry census.

For the past several weeks, international travelers arriving at Cancun International Airport have been taking to social media in droves to voice their absolute frustration over Quintana Roo’s mandatory Visitax. But the outrage hasn’t been about the existence of the tax itself—it has been entirely focused on physical airport kiosks allegedly slapping inflated fees on top of the legally mandated state charge.
The digital backlash grew so intense that the state government is now stepping in. In a move to protect the region’s world-class hospitality reputation, local authorities have launched a coordinated crackdown, shutting down questionable kiosks and overhauling how the tourist fee is collected.

Air Canada denied Juan Rojas compensation for a cancelled flight after it swapped the aircraft assigned to his flight with one that needed safety-related maintenance.

For the first time, British Columbians will not be falling back this November and won’t have to remember to change their clocks.
But not getting an extra hour of sleep might not be the only thing that is missing this weekend, as the province transitions to permanent Pacific daylight time.
The first few days could present confusion around travel and glitches with technology.
Starting Sunday, Nov. 1, B.C. will only be two hours behind eastern time and one hour ahead of U.S. states in the Pacific Time Zone.

Canada’s Competition Bureau is warning that a proposed expansion of the Air Canada-United Airlines partnership “would likely harm competition on 10 routes between Canada and the United States.”
